I have gone into the Real McCoy Cafe almost everyday since it opened in 1995. It has become a part of my morning routine to go in for a few friendly words and a great cup of coffee. My wife Ann and I also enjoy eating lunch there often. We recommend it to anyone who asks where they should eat in Lawrenceville and we often take our friends there. It is simply the best place in town to have lunch!

I wanted to thank you for the hospitality this past summer when we were traveling from coast to coast and ended up on Route 50, to finish our trip east. Our goal was to stop at all the Mom and Pop restaurants along the way. Our experience at the Real McCoy was reminscence of years ago when we lived in the midwest. The cozy atmosphere, great food and excellent service made our visit a memorable one. Everyone was so friendly, even the other diners, spoke or smiled and made us feel right at home.
I hesitated to mention this, but I feel it goes along with the outstanding treatment we received. A gentleman that obviously had everything he owned on an appliance dolly stopped out front then came in. I overheard little of the conversation, but I soon realized he was asking the server for a few minutes to sit, before heading on with his journey. He also implied that money was very short. In less than 2 minutes the server returned with a big glass of soda, and the owner/cook made a special effort to come out of a busy kitchen to personally deliver a hamburger and french fries. and a piece of pie, along with a big smile. The man's facial expression seemed to 'beam'. As timing would have it we approached the register to check out as this man was getting up. The server made a special point to thank the man, and open the door for him, in return for nothing.
The next time we are in Lawrenceville, this will definately be where we will eat lunch. Thank you so much for a reminder of "the Golden Rule" with mankind and for a great lunch.
